How much would you save with Lidl Connect?

Choose your current plan to fill in its price, or type your own. The result is the difference over a year: positive means Lidl Connect costs less, negative means it costs more. It uses €12.99 a month for Lidl Connect, not the reported €8.99 launch price, so it does not depend on an offer you might not get.

How often you pay
—

Lidl Connect at €12.99 a month, its official price. The one-off cost starts at €0.99 for a physical SIM from a Lidl store; an eSIM is free. Nothing you type leaves this page.

How is the saving worked out?

A year of your plan minus a year of Lidl Connect, minus any one-off cost. A monthly plan is paid twelve times a year; a 28-day plan thirteen times, which is why 28-day prices look cheaper than they are. The amounts are worked in whole cents, then shown as a yearly figure and a monthly average.

Example: Vodafone pay as you go at €20 every 28 days is €260 a year. Lidl Connect at €12.99 a month is €155.88. With a €0.99 physical SIM, the saving is €103.13 a year, about €8.59 a month.

What costs does the calculator leave out?

It leaves out anything that depends on your own account: an exit fee if you are still in a contract, unused credit you may or may not get back, a broadband discount you would lose, and introductory prices on your current plan. Add those yourself as a one-off cost, or check them on your provider's page first.

  • Exit fees: usually the monthly charge for each month left. See leaving a contract early.
  • Unused credit: refundable on request from most providers, some with a fee. See unused credit.
  • Bundle discounts: GoMo broadband rises by €10 a month if GoMo Mobile is cancelled.
  • Intro prices: if you are inside a cheaper first year now, enter the price you will pay after it to see the longer-term picture.

Frequently asked questions

Does the calculator use the €8.99 Lidl Connect price?

No. It uses €12.99, the official price. The €8.99 launch price was reported by the press for the first customers; if you have it, your saving is €48 a year more than shown.

Why does the calculator count 13 payments for 28-day plans?

Because a year has 365 days, which is just over thirteen 28-day periods. Counting twelve would understate a 28-day plan by about 8%.

Is anything I type into the calculator sent anywhere?

No. The sum runs in your browser. The page has no form, sets no cookies and sends nothing you type to IrishSim or anyone else.
